Nico Stojan is a Berlin-born and Berlin-raised DJ and producer, shaped by the atmosphere of a city in constant transformation. Growing up in a newly unified Berlin, his musical foundations were formed through Jazz, Hip Hop, Soul and Funk, influences that continue to inform the emotional core of his sound.

Classically trained from a young age, Nico learned to play clarinet and saxophone before discovering turntables in his teenage years. From the outset, his approach to DJing was guided by musicianship, intuition and a strong sense of narrative rather than genre boundaries.

His early productions grew out of Hip Hop beat-making, combining sample culture with live musical elements and an instinctive feel for groove. Over time, Nico refined his sound, finding a natural balance between analog warmth and digital precision, always driven by emotion rather than trends.

A defining chapter in his career came through his long-term residency at Bar25, where his sound moved further into electronic territory while retaining its organic foundation. Known for extended, immersive sets, Nico developed a reputation for creating musical journeys focused on flow, emotional depth and connection. This period led to international appearances across clubs, festivals, open-air events and sunrise performances worldwide, including a decade at Burning Man and other long-running, community-driven gatherings.

In 2015, Nico released his debut album Twisted Manners, a body of work that highlighted his ability to translate human stories into electronic music and marked a clear artistic statement.

Together with long-time collaborator Acid Pauli, Nico co-founded the label Ouïe, creating a platform for their own music as well as for artists sharing a similar musical sensibility and approach.

In July 2025, Nico expanded his creative vision with the launch of Sonara Records, founded alongside Tooker and David Mayer. Conceived as a space for close collaboration and thoughtful curation, Sonara Records has already released its first records and follows a consistent monthly release schedule. The project is set to grow further throughout 2026 as a central focus of Nico’s artistic work.

With a new album scheduled for release in 2026, Nico continues to approach music as a shared experience, whether in the studio, behind the decks or through long-term collaborative projects, always grounded in emotion, craft and connection.
